A Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Certified Professional (FFLCP) is a landscape expert trained by the University of Florida/IFAS to design, install, or maintain landscapes using environmentally sustainable practices. They specialize in water conservation, reducing pollution, and using the "Right Plant, Right Place" principle to protect Florida's natural resources. I have completed the required training and understand the principles behind creating landscapes that are better suited to Florida conditions. That matters because a pretty landscape is one thing, but a pretty landscape that performs well in heat, rain, changing seasons, and real-life maintenance is something else entirely. I use that knowledge when I design, install, and care for outdoor spaces.

I approach each project as a design-led service, not just a plant drop. I look at how the home presents from the street, how the planting will feel once it grows in, how much upkeep the homeowner realistically wants, and what will actually suit Southwest Florida conditions. My goal is to create something that looks beautiful from day one and still makes sense months later.

Absolutely! Not every project needs to be a full-property redesign. Sometimes the front entry, one tired garden bed, or the main view from the street is the area that needs attention most. Small, well-planned improvements can make a huge difference.

I prefer to offer Landscape Maintenance & Checkups for landscapes I have personally designed and installed. I do that very intentionally so I can stand behind the work, understand the plant choices, and care for the property properly over time. It keeps the service more personal, more consistent, and much more aligned with the standard I want to maintain.

This is my ongoing care service for clients whose landscapes I have designed and installed. It includes looking after the overall presentation of the planting, checking how the landscape is performing, monitoring watering concerns, and doing light care and tidying where needed. It is especially helpful for seasonal homeowners who want peace of mind while they are away.

Yes, if I designed and installed the landscape I would love to look after your landscaping while you are away from home. That is one of the reasons I offer Landscape Maintenance & Checkups. Florida landscapes change quickly in heat, rain, and long summer stretches, so having someone familiar with the design keep an eye on things can make a big difference.

Yes! Ave Maria and Babcock Ranch are two of my key service areas, and I have experience working in neighborhoods in both communities, along with experience connected to HOA approval processes. That local familiarity helps me design landscapes that feel right for the home and sensible for the community.

What is the best first step if I want to improve my landscaping?

The best first step is to identify what is bothering you most. Sometimes it is poor curb appeal. Sometimes it is a messy entry. Sometimes the planting feels random or dated. Once I understand what is not working and what you want the property to feel like, I can guide you toward the right next step.

Do you design for new homes as well as established homes?

Yes. New homes often need warmth, structure, and a landscape plan that makes the property feel finished. Established homes often need a cleaner layout, updated planting, or a design that feels more intentional. I work with both.

Do you choose plants based on what is trendy?

I choose plants based on what will suit the property, the sun and shade conditions, the look you want, and how the landscape will need to be cared for. Trends come and go. A good planting plan should still make sense when the trend has gone off to annoy someone else.

Can my project be done in phases?

Yes. Some homeowners prefer to tackle the front entry first, then the foundation beds, then the side or pool areas later. A phased approach can work very well when it is planned properly from the start.

What areas do you serve?

I focus on Southwest Florida, including Ave Maria, Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Babcock Ranch. I especially love working in communities where curb appeal, planning, and thoughtful planting really matter.
